MK52 heabed fra PRUSA har indlejret magneter med høj Curie-temperatur. Disse magneter er i stand til at fastholde aftagelige fjederstålplader under 3D print.

Smooth Sheet er bedst til lav temperatur materialer såsom PLA og til dels PETG. Bemærk dog at vi anbefaler brug af limstift eller udskiftning til Steel Spring Sheet med PEI coating til PETG, ASA og Flex materialer.

 


The MK52 heatbed has embedded high Curie temperature magnets. These magnets are able to firmly hold removable spring steel sheets. The Spring Steel Sheet With Smooth Double-sided PEI uses the same PEI sheets as on the MK2/S. It is the best solution for printing PLA and it has great adhesion with almost all materials. The bottom of your prints will be smooth.

You can leave small marks on the print surface with your nozzle or tools, they will typically be shinier than the rest. It does not affect functionality or adhesion. However, if you want to have the same surface look on the whole printbed you can resurface it. The easiest way is to take the hard side of a dry kitchen sponge and wipe the affected area with a circular motion gently a few times.

The steel sheet color may differ from the product picture (black, gold, green, etc). The smooth PEI surface on the steel sheet, as well as all other properties, remain the very same for all color versions.

Note:

Consumable parts, such as PEI sheets (smooth, textured, etc.) are not covered by warranty as the coatings are designed to diminish over time unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship. Cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents, cracks or other cosmetic damage is also not covered by the warranty. Only defective sheets on arrival are covered by warranty.

Before putting the steel sheet on the heatbed, make sure the heatbed is clean and free of any filament debris.
Never print directly on the heatbed. Always use either the smooth or the textured spring steel sheet.

To remove the printed object from the print surface, always wait until the steel sheet cools down to room temperature. Then you can take it off by bending the sheet inwards and outwards.

Using spatula should not be necessary anymore, use it only if the cool printed object cannot be disengaged from the print surface by any kind of bending of the sheet.

Textured vs. smooth spring steel sheet difference

We offer two types of spring steel sheets, the powder coated one and the smooth one. Both sheets are covered by Ultem PEI (polyetherimide), the only difference is that the powder-coated spring steel sheet is covered by PEI dust baked directly to its surface, whereas the smooth PEI layer is glued to the metal sheet as a sticker. It is possible to use both of them for printing with any type of material, if used properly.

Prints with a small area touching the print surface or with sharp corners are less likely to detach when printing on the smooth spring steel sheet. Some users also like the smooth and shiny bottom side of their prints.

On the other hand, the powder-coated steel sheets are better for printing objects with materials such as PETG, CPE or Flexfill (TPU) which tend to adhere too much to a smooth surface but can be easily removed from the textured one. The textured pattern on the bottom side of your print also hides all potential imperfections of your first layer.
